How it all began…

As a child I would find lost dogs and reunite them with their owners. I was like a magnet for finding strays in the neighborhood. They came to me for help so I took them home. Begging to keep them as my own, my mother told me I could look after them only until the owners came to pick up their lost dog. Soooo in a sense I began dog sitting long before I ever realized it would become my dream career. Some of those strays did stay longer than others because not all had a collar with tags to help us find their way home.

A few we took to the local animal shelter for help in our search which also peaked my interest in dog rescue at a young age. Rescue is very important to me as I feel every dog deserves a chance to have a home. Even as a child the thought of a dog out in the elements cold, hungry, scared and alone just wasn’t an option for me. The same concept applies now with my attention to making sure all my campers are treated like family and stay in a homey environment with lots of love and attention.

Training always came natural to me. Through the years friends, neighbors and co-workers would ask me to help improve their dogs’ behaviors.  It was during volunteer work with local rescues and through the encouragement of fellow rescue workers and friends, I realized my true calling was working with dogs. Providing dogs and their owners with the tools necessary to successfully bond, brings me so much joy. Seeing the connection being made between human and canine is truly rewarding.
